G. I. T. / Colic

  • A/F : gaseous formation, irregular menses. 
  • Spasms or cramp of stomach.
  • Colic pain compels the patient to bend double or to have hard pressure on abdomen which gives relief.
  • A gentle rubbing or warmth also relieves the pain of mag. Phos. 
  • The whole GIT is full of gas which creates distension of abdomen, accompanied with eructations and flatulence which does not give relief.
  • Most of the symptoms of colocynth and mag. Phos. Are similar, but the major difference is the side affinity, where the mag. Phos. Has right sided colic. 

Female reproductive system

  • Menstrual colic - with same characteristics as described above.
  • Membranous dysmenorrhoea. 
  • Menstrual characteristics - 
  • Time : too early.
  • Flow : dark and stringy.
  • Pain : right sided colic. 

Neuralgia 

  • Neuralgia of face, especially supra or infra orbital. 
  • Right side is more affected. 
  • Intermittent cutting pain. 
  • > external heat. 
  • < touch, cold air, pressure.

Pain 

  • Include neuralgia + colic. 

Modalities 

  • Aggravation : cold in general, motion, touch. 
  • Amelioration : bending double, pressure, warmth.
