  • Common name : club moss / wolf's claw
  • Family : lycopodiaceae
  • Prover : Dr. Hahnemann 
  • Miasm : tri-miasmatic 
  • Temperament : Nervous, irritable 
  • Diathesis : uric acid and lithic acid (inclined to hepatic and lung affections) 
  • Thermal : chilly 

Constitution

  • Grauvogl's carbo-nitrogenoid constitution.
  • Suited in extremes of life.
  • Intellectually keen but physically weak.
  • Upper part emaciated, lower part is semi-dropsical.

Guiding symptoms + keynotes

  1. A/F : Anger, mortification, reserved displeasure.
  2. Deep seated progressive chronic disease.
  3. Canine hunger (cina), but few mouthfuls fill upto the throat.
  4. Excessive accumulation of flatulence.
  5. Red sand in urine, on child's diaper, child cries before urination.
  6. Fan like motion of alae nasi.
  7. 4-8 pm aggravation.

Mind

  • A/F : same as guidings.
  • Intellectually keen, but physically weak.
  • Wants to be alone, yet has dread of solitude. 
  • Lyco patient prefers to remain alone in a room but wants to have somebody in the adjacent room.
  • Weeps all the day, cannot calm Herself, very sensitive, even cries when thanked.
  • Chronic fatigue.
  • Aversion to appearing in any new role, aversion to new work.
  • A lawyer cannot think of appearing in court.
  • Child cries all the day, sleeps all the night. 
  • Shorts of lyco. Mind :
  • "Dread of men and dread of solitude, irritability and melancholy."
  • "Taciturnity, desires to be alone."
  • "sensitive, cries even when thanked."
  • "loss of confidence." 


Head

  • Right sided headache, pain goes right to left.
  • Character : throbbing headache after every paroxysm of cough. 
  • Pain in temples.
  • Tearing pain in occiput, better by fresh air. 


Throat

  • Dryness of throat without thirst.
  • Food and drinks regurgitates through nose. 
  • Pain goes right to left side of the throat.
  • Relieved by warm drink. 

Pneumonia

  • Neglected or maltreated pneumonia.
  • Especially right lower lobe is affected.
  • Expectoration : gray, thick, bloody, purulent, salty. 
  • Fan like motion of alae nasi. 

GIT

  • Few mouthfuls fill upto the throat - means small quantity of food gives much satisfaction to the hunger, which also leads to frequent intake of food which is termed as canine hunger.
  • Excessive accumulation of flatulence, which leads to frequent evacuation and flatus as well.
  • Patient feels bloated, fermentation in abdomen with loud grumbling. 
  • Constipation : since puberty, since last confinement, when away from home, of infants, with ineffectual urging, rectum contracts and protrudes during stool, developing piles.
  • Right sided hernia. 

Urinary system

  • Red sand in urine, on child's diaper.
  • Child cries before urination.
  • Pain relieved by urinating. 
  • Right sided renal colic (left sided - berb.v.).

Male reproductive system

  • Impotence of young men, from onanism or sexual excess. 
  • penis small, cold, relaxed.
  • Old man with strong desire but imperfect erection. 
  • Premature emission.

Female reproductive system

  • Dryness of vagina.
  • Burning in, during and after coition. 
  • Physometra.

Baby

  • Mention all the relatable sub-headings and symptoms mentioned above. 

Modalities 

  • Aggravation : 4-8 p.m., heat or warmth except throat and stomach which are better by warm drinks. 
  • Amelioration : motion, warm food or drink especially in throat and stomach. 

Relations

  • Complementary : iodine. 
  • Follows well after : calc.c., carb.v., lach., sulph. 
  • It is rarely advisable to begin the treatment of a chronic disease with lyco., unless clearly indicated, it is better to give first another anti-psoric. - as lyco. may take time show significant result.

  1. In general patient is chilly except in head and spine symptoms.so aggravation must be from cool weather or cool room right??
