Baby+ / Marasmus

• Constitution : Emaciation, especially the lower extremities, 
• Ascending emaciation.
• Old looking young person with greatly emaciated body,
• Loses flesh while eating well, which leads to flabby skin, skin hangs loose in folds.

• Particulars : 
• A/F : suppressed secretions or diarrhoea, defective digestion. 

• Mentals : Cross, Cruel, Irritable, Depressed.
• The patient / child is very cruel, always want to do something cruel. 
• Violent and ill natured. 

• Physicals : Progressive ascending emaciation, even with good appetite. 
• The Marasmus appears even with ravenous hunger, because of defective digestion. 
• Defective digestion also leads to Lientery (passage of undigested food in stool).
• Defective digestion and absorption leads to malnutrition and Marasmus in the child. 
• Metastasis is a well marked feature in Abrotanum!, here it means the change of one disease into the another.
• Distended abdomen with hard lump in abdomen.
• Diarrhoea alternates with Constipation. 
• Rheumatism alternates with haemorrhoids and dysentery.
• Stomach feels as if swimming in water.
• Hydrocele and nosebleed also favor Abrotanum.

• Aggravation : checked (suppressed) secretion, cold air. 
• Amelioration : motion.
